All Saints - Shop Report.

Dirty, distressed and dark. Not what you would really like to hear about a brand but it totally works. Aimed at a younger generation and prices ranging from £100-£400 All Saints doesn’t like to follow the trends and has its original stamp on things. A lot of the clothing is very similar throughout the store, fitted dresses which lead onto deconstructed skirts and distressed jeans in black, grey, and beige. Before trying on the clothes you can tell they are going to be comfy for casual occasions, just by looking at the baggy fitted expressive printed t-shirts. Not forgetting the studded biker style leather jackets, tender 100% cotton over-sized cardigans and Victorian lace up boots.

Displaying over 30 Singer sewing machines in the shop window shows how quietly how confident that the brand sells itself but when you get in the store it’s an experience in itself. Dimly lit, plank- floored and ram skull-accented boutique brim-full of edgy, goth-lite fashions is just mind blowing. Everything is done in a pristine way, garments are hung on rails in numbers of 4-8 which makes it so much easier to find what you are looking for instead of having to rummage through a mass load of one garment in a hundred different colours and sizes. It’s simple, easy and means for a stress free retail experience and this is one of the reason I class it as a high end range.

Back to the 70's- Shoes

These  embroidered platform shoes by Frequencies are big hitters in my eyes to fit in with the seventies trend. They would look great with my design and id probs add some little mustard ankle socks with them.

Back to the 70's- and its finished

Today I just had to tidy some things up like lose threads and stitch you the bottom of the skirt and i was all done.

Above: The bottom of the dress being more loose and messy rather than a perfectly straight line, gathered was the word I was looking for.

Above: This was the bottom of the dress more structured and i made panels to create a shape but I preferred the top version as it goes with the hippy styled look and fits in getter with the gathered waist line.

Final outcome! Yayyyyyyyy

Back to the 70's- Short legnth it is...

Today iv had a really busy day at college, done another design developement sheet just to focus on the neckline and the bottom of my dress and iv actually altered my design in a way.

Below: Second design development sheet.

This was my dress at the beginning of the day, and i wasnt feeling the handkerchief styled bottom of the dress how its longer at the front and back and short at the sides. So below are just some images of me messing on with the skirt and playing around to try and make it look more structured.

Left: This is my design from side on, only pinned thought, obvs when its stitched properly it will fall better. So il do that tomorrow during the day, and post so more images then. :) buy for nowwww.

Oh I nearly forgot to mention the necline got binded to neating the edges up and the heams down the side got sewing up over the weekend by the ladies in college which was very kind of them. Also I finished off the belt which was VERY frustrating, but got there in the end with a gathering effect.

Catwalk Fix - Fendi

We all know the seventies look has been appearing on the autumn/winter 2011-12 catwalk. From Marc by Marc Jacobs to Mulberry and Fendi, polite, almost preppy looks have been catching our eyes. But what jewellery to work with this look? Well look what iv came across the hippy-esque bracelets with multi-coloured stones that were shown on the Fendi catwalk are just the thing to have peeping out from under next season's chiffon blouses and fur coats.
